Shirtless in the desert.

I know it's silly. But this blog wouldn't be mine without some shirtless photos of a former scrawny teenager who grew into a well proportioned black,  gay,  proud and married man.

I didn't resist the urge of taking these pictures having the deserf as a landscape and snowy montains in the background!

The Starks..

When one comes to think about it. The Starks brought their fate upon themselves. Out of pride and a huge lack of political skills , these fallen heroes ended up slaughtered like cattle.

I didn't cry when Ned died. I didn't get attached to him as much as everybody else seems to have. Lady Stark , on the othet hand...made me think.

My favorite scene of the first season is when she held Tyron prisioner by using only her power over men, in a bar!
That showed me a woman who knew how she was seen and admired by her equals.
When it came to handling the king of the bridge (whose name I am too lazy to google), she sold herself too high!

One should know better than doing that.

Her actions brought the death of her family. I find it very becoming.

Now it's up to the little ones to live happily and free from their parents bad choices and failed plans.

Game of Thrones is simply fantastic.

Changes.

I have been through powerful changes in my life. From ugly to handsome. From poor to not poor. From unemployed actor to English teacher.
It never got me as a fundamental truth,  the idea of looking back. I kind of always knew,  one day,  I'd be pulled out of a very suffocating reality and plunked into a less condescending one.

Nevertheless,  this image got stuck in my mind the moment I saw it.

Spin offs are cool!

I adore it when spin offs come to life. It gives characters I love the chance tl shine brighter and become memorable! I am really looking forward to watching this one!

Madam Vastra is astonishingly interesting!

Gosh, how I love Doctor Who!

Screw all the other tales about witches and mages . Forget everything you heard about the Wonderful Wizard. That's how one can actually enjoy the beautiful and profound story written in this book.

By far it's the best one I've ever read. I read a lot , by the way.

 Being a lone wolf for most of my life , I couldn't help but relate to Elphaba Thropp and her shortcomings in facing love , happiness and success in all sorts.

 The whole being born green thing  cannot be unseen as an allusion to being different , in skin , thoughts or sexuality. She was even born a hermaphrodyte!

What captures me the most is her strenght when in peryl. She crosses a lake to save a monkey without realizing that her magical powers freeze the water beneath her feet to safeguard her action!

She has a kid and totally forgets about the ordeal. She saves a country from an oppressor by simply being her! Being Green , Powerful and Complicated is what leads her to victory , even though she doesn't live to see it.

Wicked , by Gregory Maguire , is tge best book for difficult people who tried to fit in and got tired of it.

Melody Pond / River Song

   Alguns personagens , simplesmente , me encantam!

Desde pequeno sou atraído por personagens , femininas que deixam os rapazes sem fôlego e sabem como se safar dos mais variados problemas.

Eu conheci algumas mulheres assim , na vida real e não gostei nem um pouco. Não ví nada além de uma certa arrogancia e um ar de "solidão" transformado em "solitude" que não me convenceu.

Enfim , na ficção funciona  e muito bem.  Desde Buffy até....os dias atuais , eu tenho falhado ao procurar por uma personagem que fosse assim , encantadora.  Passei por vários seriados  , vários livros e até mesmo filmes e só me decepcionei com o fato de tudo se resolver com um casamento com o mocinho! Que droga de modelo é esse? Heroínas da ficção devem fazer o impossivel e não o possivel. Certo?

Daí , ao começar a assistir Doctor Who , eu me deparei com uma sequencia de "companions" que não queriam nada além de dar uns pegas no Doctor.
 Eu estava prestes a deixar a série , uma vez que a companion da quarta temporada ( da nova saga) era uma chata interpretada por uma atriz que não me agradou , quando o episódio "Silence in the library" foi ao ar e com ele a imagem da Professora River Song atingiu meus olhos e a voz dela afetou meus ouvidos de uma forma que até hoje eu não consigo decifrar em palavras.

Ela surgiu com essa roupa:

E ela dizia ser do futuro do Doctor.Ela dizia saber o nome dele. Ela pilotava a TARDIS melhor que ele. Ela usava batom vermelho. Ela era a mulher perfeita.

Logo que a temporada acabou , eu fui aos foruns e ví que muita gente tinha ficado super contente e curiosa a respeito da personagem e da atriz. Eu ja conhecia o trabalho da , fabulosa , Alex Kingston desde a personagem "Alex Corday" em E.R , ( o famoso , Plantão Médico). No entanto , a River Song  eu , e pelo o que eu pude contatar no momento , metade do mundo , não conhecia e tava louco pra conhecer.

Quando ela ganhou um espaço nos episódios com o Décimo Primeiro Doctor , eu sabia que a minha série favorita só teria a ganhar.

Em apenas uma temporada , ela deixou todas as outras companions no esquecimento. É dificil lembrar de qualquer uma delas e não comparar com a River e dizer , "Ah...Mas a River é muito mais legal!"

Não vou entrar em detalhes sobre a estória criada para essa personagem , porque não é essa a função do Blog e  eu detesto dar SPOILERS!
